1. The service
Linota is a digital language-learning service. It lets you choose and save supported-language text, create study notes and review cards, and practice them later. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Notice.
2. Your account and saved text
Keep access to your email account secure and do not share your sign-in link or connected extension with others. You are responsible for the text you submit. Only submit material you have the right to use, and do not submit sensitive personal data, confidential information, illegal content, or other people's personal information without a lawful basis.
Do not misuse the service. For example, do not automate account creation, bypass credit or plan limits, try to access other accounts, disrupt the service, or use the AI feature for purposes outside normal personal learning. We may suspend or limit access where reasonably necessary to protect people, data, or the service.
3. AI-generated content can contain mistakes
AI-generated study notes and writing feedback can be incomplete, wrong, or unsuitable for a particular context. Treat them as study help, verify important information with reliable sources, and do not use them as professional legal, medical, financial, safety, or other high-stakes advice. We do not guarantee that every explanation, translation, pronunciation, example, or correction is accurate or complete.
4. Plans, credits, payments, and refunds
Free, Basic, and Pro include different limits and features, as shown on the Pricing page. Analysis credits are used only when a new study note is successfully created. Basic and Pro credits reset at the start of each monthly billing period.
Before you confirm a paid plan, Linota shows the price, billing period, applicable taxes, and payment terms. Paid plans renew monthly until cancelled. You can manage or cancel your plan from Profile and settings. Fees are generally non-refundable to the extent permitted by mandatory law. Statutory consumer rights, including any non-waivable withdrawal or refund rights, remain unaffected.
5. Your data and ending the service
Your account belongs to you. You can delete individual learning items, adjust retention, export available notes on eligible plans, and delete your account from Profile and settings. Account deletion removes account-linked product data as explained in the Privacy Notice, subject to limited legal, security, and backup exceptions.
6. Availability and changes
We aim to provide a reliable service, but software can experience interruptions or errors. We may improve, change, or discontinue features where reasonably necessary, taking account of applicable law and existing paid commitments. Please keep your own copy of material that matters to you.
7. Intellectual property and feedback
Linota, its software, and its visual identity belong to the operator or its licensors. You keep rights in the text you submit. You give us the limited permission needed to host, process, analyze, and display it to operate the service. If you send feedback, you allow us to use it to improve the service without an obligation to compensate you.
8. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Subject to that, the service is provided on a best-efforts basis and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from ordinary use of the service. This section does not limit liability for intent, gross negligence, injury to life, body or health, fraud, or mandatory consumer rights.
9. Contact and updates
For questions about these terms, contact help@linota.de. We may update these terms for good reason, including legal or service changes. We will make the current version available here. Last updated: 12 August 2026.
